Avoid A Dental Emergency!
When was the last time you visited our office for a hygiene examination and cleaning? If you are having a difficult time remembering, then it has been too long. Now that the dreary and cold winter season is over, there is no better time to visit our office. Delaying routine examinations can not only affect your long-term oral health, but it can also increase your likelihood of experiencing a dental emergency. A dental emergency can develop at any time, especially if there is undiagnosed decay or other dental condition occurring in your mouth. Is it Time for a Visit?
We recommend that the majority of our patients visit every six months for a routine hygiene examination and cleaning. There are some patients who we like to see more frequently, especially if they are receiving treatments or are being monitored for gum disease. Even if you have an excellent at-home oral hygiene routine, regular appointments allow our team to remove any lingering plaque from between your teeth and along the gumline, inspect for decay and ensure that no other conditions, such as gum disease or oral cancer, are present.
Be Honest About Your Feelings
If you have avoided visiting our office due to nervous feelings or dental anxiety, we encourage you to be honest with our dental team. We have many nervous and fearful patients, and we always do our best to make them feel comfortable in our office. Delaying cleanings and recommended treatments only leads to more extensive treatments and procedures, which is definitely not ideal for nervous patients. Keeping up with your hygiene appointments ensures that you will spend as little time as necessary in our office.
If you or a loved one has not visited us in over six months, we recommend calling our office located in Canandaigua, NY to schedule your next hygiene examination and cleaning. We also recommend calling if you are experiencing any discomfort or notice a problem with your oral health. We look forward to seeing you soon!
